About me

The stud farm is managed by me - Nina Obermüller - with professional depth, experience and a clear vision, a lot of know-how and the necessary degree of stubbornness that is sometimes needed.

State-Certified Professional of Equine Management Breeding and Husbandry.

A-level Western riding trainer, licensed of course – EWU, FN, DOSB, all the official madness in chic equestrian mail.

Professional Horsewoman at APHA & DQHA. Three-time European Champion, one runner-up. Multiple German Champion. Sounds like something from an application for a professional rider casting?

A career based on hard work. And on the will to improve. Again and again. Not just theoretically, but with boots, a hat, and lots of coffee.

The young years

Nina Obermüller. Born in '82 in Ostfildern – a town that sounds like it's forgotten itself. No siblings, but enough character for three. My parents are called Ursula and Friedhelm, and no, they don't run a winery; they just have names like they're from an ARD TV drama.

I studied communication design – which means in plain language: I am originally a completely normal photographer with some knowledge of graphic design and new media.

My job became my hobby, and my hobby became my job. The realization that horses are less difficult than agency clients led me to become a professional rider with a degree in communications and media design.

I like clear words, clean transitions, and horses that don't act like they're wild broncos from Montana. In my world, there's good riding and good coffee.

The equestrian vita

It all started at the riding club around the corner. Vaulting. That is, gymnastics on a horse, because at six you're not allowed to saddle yourself. Finally, at nine, I got into the saddle, and I haven't been able to get off since.

Classical riding – that was my first great love. Today, I look back on it like old diary entries: with a smile, yet still with respect.

Then, as a teenager, I started western riding – the moment when riding suddenly smelled like denim jeans – and trainers like Ute Holm, Roger Kupfer, and Marc de Broissia influenced me. And challenged me.

And somewhere in between, someone asked me for help.

The C-level trainer became the entry-level trainer. This became a B-level trainer. Then an A-level trainer.

Until today

Then the decision came: If I'm going to do it, I'm going to do it right. I hung up my camera, took over the Taubenhof Stud Farm, became a master of horse breeding and husbandry, turned the stud farm into a training facility, and passed the DQHA breeding judge exam.

And again and again, and to this day: the horses themselves. They aren't just learning partners, they're teachers. And when there seems to be no solution, there's always the perspective of anatomy and biomechanics. This opens doors. Provides answers. Or at least a new approach.

I observe. I think. I allow. Other riding styles, other horse breeds, other people.

The Taubenhof Stud Farm is a place for honest work with horses. And a team that knows that competence has nothing to do with noise.
